Having won the tournament held in 2016, the onus was on RUFC Vorarlberg, with support from a couple of Rugby Club St. Gallen players, to defend their title.

Strong performances saw a clean sweep of 5 games - 5 victories and player of the tournament being awarded to the ever-improving St. Gallen winger, Gabriel Burger.
